Dilemma Im having with my 98 spec USDM itr motor *HELP*
Last night as I took my car out for a drive (after it been sitting for a whole month) and noticed a heatshield style vibration coming from where the Carsound Cat is . Only when it is cold though...when the car is heated up for about 15-20 min. the noise starts to gradually go away and get quieter and quieter.
The second problem I noticed was when the car is cold..and slightly warmed up...
I try to give it Steady throttle at about 18-2200 ..and when I try to keep it at those rpms..the motor starts to fluxuate the rpms from 1800-1000 back and forth.
However when the motor is FULLY warmed up..that problem goes away and has no problem keeping a steady throttle at 1800-2200
NOW this is the problem that occurs when the motor is fully warmed up..When I shift from 1st to second or 3rd...at around 4k rpms ..the motor lags really bad..as if the e brake was on.
Wth do you think it could be? A faulty sensor ? Clogged cat?
I not getting check engine light..so I cant check for any codes
Any of you guys experience this problem and can help a brother out
Thanks

have you checked the usual items like plugs, plug wires, distributor, alternator...
if your thinking faulty sensor they usually throw up codes.
