Physical Difference between LS and GSR tranny for LSD
Ok here's the down and dirty
I have an LS with Quaife on my car now...I want to throw a GSR tranny on there, but don't want to lose out on the LSD
now i know that the quaife part numbers are the same for gsr/type-R and for ls/b16... and im assuming the quaife for the ls/b16 won't directly bolt onto the gsr/type-R
I'm just wondering what exactly are the differences between the gsr/R and the b16/LS trannies, so that I can make the LS quaife fit the GSR

You can use the Quaife, but you'll have to replace the ring gear(with the GSR) along with the GSR counter shaft and whatever GSR tranny parts you will be using.
All you will have to do is switch over the ring gear and then shim the side of the carrier bearings to get the proper clearance in the case.
You will also have to push out the races for the tapered roller bearings the gsr tranny uses.
Did you install the quaife yourself? If you did you'll know all I'm talking about. If you didn't you won't know what I'm saying until you get in there.
All in all, it's not that hard.

I did the quaife with a friend of mine
When I ordered the roller taper bearings from Honda and we went to go do the install, we didn't know to remove the shim from the diff housing and ended up breaking the case since one of the bearings already had a shim in there i guess?
THen recently, i had to take apart the tranny and one of the beraings (on the quaife) was bad, so i replaced it with one of the original bearings, and i had a new 1/2 case, and we kept the shim in there, and it fit great
Im not exactly sure which parts you're takking about (carrier bearing, etc)
me dumb noob
