aem air bypass valve
no aem cai here, but the reason b/c is i still here about hydro-lockin' incidents with a bypass valve. i wouldn't trust aem, heard too many bad things. I would try (i'm bias) to do DIY icebox or a short ram.
according Sport Compact Car it works. They decided to test it out but none of the editors, writers, photographers, or contributers want to test their car. So they called the owner of AEM(i forget his name). They got him to test his car on it(NSX). They made a special clear cai so u could see where the water was reaching. They submerged the whole filter in a fish tank full off water. they had the car around half to a quater throttle and the water did not get to the engine. so like a car alarm i'm sure it prevents 100% but more of deterrent.
My brother has the AEM CAI with bypass.
you asked if it works....I have not purposely ran his car thru a puddle to find out.
His GSR just has I/H/E.
