Got to be on drugs to spend $54K on a car worth 2,590,000 yen = $21k!
I thinks is worth the wait when its properly imported from American Honda.

That much coin for that car is crazy. Except for being "special" and rare, that is not worth anything near that kind of money. There's a dozen other cars you could buy that would crush that car all day long (stock) and cost less.
It's neat and all, but that's silly.

I have a ? about importing, since we're on the subject. Say you get an 02 Integra R and it's imported through CA, since that's the closest mainland state...does it have to meet CA standards before I can take it to where I'm getting it registered?
For example, I live in FL, which has no emissions, I wouldn't want to have to spend lots of $$$ getting it converted if I didn't need to...or would I just have to get it US inspected for safety standards?
thanks for the info, just something that has been kicking around in my head...

Yes you guessed it, this guy is bringing over 2, YES 2, championship White JDM integra TYPE R's 2002 model.
It will be droped of in Northern cali sold to a guy who advertises in superstreet and turbo and stuff like that, reason for the buy was to R&D the car and get parts ready for when the car hits our shores late 2004.
(reason I say yellow is that all his adds have alot of yellow in it.)

thats insane!! 54K.. fawk that.. everyone in this damn import industry is trying to rip who ever they can.. no wonder since there is so many rich dumbass people out there that will actaully think that its a steal. Why spend 54K on a honda? who cars if its JDM or not.. it aint worth even close to that.. and all that meets cali regulations is bunch of bullshit to rack up the price..
i rather roll a 5 series for that amount of money.. and sit on the left hand side

So these cars are being imported over as "research vehicles" then.... From what I am told (through people I know who are currently importing mew MINI's to the US), it is very easy to import a research vehicle, but they are still illegal to use as a regular driver on the streets of the US. So unless they do some VIN tampering or lots of legal work to make the car look like a US issue RSX, the cars will probably not be legal....
but I am no expert....
Cheese~

That's not alot of money considering he will get so much notoriety and fame and advertising dollars. I can see tons of ricers lining up to see one in a show. Plus, to get ahead of the competition in research and development, you have get a jump ahead. I say it is a good business decision. If the new R does come to NA, or even not, he will benefit from having them.
i'm sure its benefit to who ever is bring them in.. making him money in the long run.. but if he were to start importing these and sell to people for like 54K now thats another story.. i guess its a wise choice to get a jump ahead on this industry.. so rices dont have to worry.. as soon as 2004 rolls around and new ITR comes out on street of US there will be an option at the dealer to get your tiite altezza tails in clear/red or carbon fiber heehehehhe j/k..
let's hope they do some good R&D and make some usefull parts that will actually make power rather and not just look pretty..

I would strip and rebuild one car to see if you can make performance parts for the Type S which is readily available. I am sure there is a market for that. I wonder if the Realtime guys are planning on upgrading their cars and using R spec Type S's or just importing Type R's and converting them.
$55k!? Mmmm... let me see - a new 333hp M3 or a 217hp car that looks like a raised Dodge Neon with a bad body kit and an oversized spoiler. Though choice that.
Who cares about the money!! No one ask you to buy them!!....just get in-line and test drive the new R!!
.......and tell me how it feels, cuz I ain't from Cali.....<tear, tears>

Why you gotta get me all worked up? I don't want to buy it either, but I doubt that they will let anyone test drive them without cash in hand...
I agree. 55K? I'd buy TWO G3 ITRs and still have money left over to pick up a beater Civic....but I'd be all over the M3, or a 315hp M coupe.

The only real problem with the new R's is emissions. And CA is not the greatest place to import. A state with less reg would be the best place..and less hassel.
Are these fully loaded Rs?
Because if I wanted to import some for some people I can as well.
But when I mean fully loaded thats every opt. including HID, side and front airbags and sunroof..and yes it is part of the opt list. There like 3 sound sys opt. one being a dvd player/GPS. But I would do 37-38 grand shipped anywhere in the US.
But you would have to make it meet emission in your state. Reg ITR's for racing only can be had for around 35-36 grand shipped. And if you don't want for anything more then racing only or collectors items..you don't need to meet any reg atleast here you don't. Which would bring even the price down more.
I guess before anyone buys you guys need to find out all the fine details. Because sometimes there just reg collector/show car which only allows around 2,500 miles per yr. If race car reg it can never touch public roads.

Agree with you. Bringing in a car that the manufacturer didn't mean to be here adds too much to the price of the car, and then there's excess dealer profit as well.
Also...I really hate driving RHD cars in North America!
