Default Rollcage pictures...finally.

i know there was a thread about this a few days ago... finally got some pictures taken:

Driver side forward hoop attached to rear hoop.

Driver side under dash bar attached to forward hoop.

Yes, that is a homer simpson floor mat...
I plan on getting a nascar style door bar, just haven't done it yet...yet.

Passenger side door bar.

Not TOO visible from outside of the car.
and i HATE those corner lamps.

I managed to get my rear view mirror to bolt back in. I need haven't taken the driver side window out, therefore I didn't get a door bar installed. I plan on doing that closer to January of next year.

My next goal is to begin rebuilding the engine and trying to get more power out of the B16A, plus a LSD. I'd like it to be a bit more competitive in DM and H1 (WCHC). Right now, it's still just a fun car.

i hope you never have to take out the dash...it looks like it would be a royal PITA!

i went for the hack-the-****-out-of-your-dash cage. it seems less obtrusive (is there such a word???) and my knees won't be banging on the dash bar, ever.

looks good though!

Is the back half still the autopower rollbar? Or just the main rollbar?

nice

I don't know anything about cages but, do you have to have the bar go over your knees like that? Is the bar below the dash necessary for your racing class? I want a cage but, I don't want it to be so obtrusive to the driver or passenger. So I would need the door areas open.

EDIT: BTW, your car looks pretty cool.

Everything is still autopower bar.

The passenger side is made to be just two side bars going straight across, but instead, we made it so it was an cross.

the only thing that won't be part of the autopower cage will be the driver's side nascar bar (when i get that in).

The under dash bar is high enough where I don't even get close to touching it. We tried to get it to be above the steering column, but, it would interfer with all the gauges. and yes, it's necessary to redistribute any load either hoop receives to the other side. plus, it adds more rigidity to the cage.

The dash won't come out. Hopefully i never need to remove it. However, the cage is bolted into the chassis (will be welded when the driver side bars get installed)...which means I can move the cage A LITTLE bit.

Good idea on the X instead of just running 2 straight bars. Is there anything going from the middle bar on the hoop behind the seat to the floor(besides the obvious)?

Thanks for answering my question about the dash bar. I took a closer look at the pictures, nice camera mount.

Driven,

Could you post a couple of close-up pics of your center console where you cut it over the dash bar? My dash bar is a little higher than yours but still below the column, and I need to cut my center console to get it back in. Did you retain the metal cage/support behind the center console? Did you have to cut it? Thanks for any info/pics.
