The only thing is the block needs to contain only Honda Parts not necessarily stock but still Honda

d16a1 pistons from an 89 teg to bump up cr, and a new cam (even though you said only honda) an aftermarket would be the only choice, and maybe a metal h/g from the newer d motors
The teg pistons put it at a high 10:1 ratio, around 10.5:1 I think, not positve. Someone has the exact specs. Then an Exospeed cam, JG, Crane, and a few others do them. B series TB, Y8 intake manifold.
If you head swap, don't worry about the pistons. It'll gave you crazy compression with the pistons and head. If you do good headwork, with good compression and high revs, it should be pretty fun. But then again, I've never had more fun than in FI'ed cars.

im doing vx rods d15 crank p29 pistons and build vtec (Which i know isn't your thing) but the vx rods are 137mm like the d16 rods but meant for the d15 crank, bumping your r/s ratio upto 1.62 which is better for top end breathing and such. Probably gunna use the crower stage 3. I've got the exospeed race regrind if you're interested
actually I had already planned to run shot peened d16 rods with GX pistons and gapless rings for the block with a stock .040 overbore
the Head is going to Portflow to get series mandated maximums with a minor mill job. The cam is coming from crane as well as the cam. Ferrea oversized valves and titanium springs and retainers. The Intake manifold will be the new skunk which is probably why i havent built it yet and a stock ported TB with Hondatas IM gasket. The headers will be the AN-R's I already have with the 1 piece welded on straight pipe and race can.
The whole bottom end is getting balanced with a 6.5 pound flywheel and UR super light crank and alternator pullies. The clutch will be a stock SI plate with ACT HD pressure plate. The trans is SI with a 4.73 or perhaps if I can afford it 5.00 hausman final drive
The fuel rail and regulator will be AEM and the injectors are JDM s2000
