best headlight bulbs to buy
I sometimes don't think you h-t people are understanding peoples questions as they are asking them. Of course he wants to look "cool" . Why would you suggest that he gets real HID's when he didn't say anything about being able to see better.

RAYBRIG bulbs are awesome.. white, with a tint of purple, they were 85 bucks after tax. but worth it. but if you want that blue/white i guess NOKYA would be the way to go. just go to your local car performance shop, they usually stock up on bulbs. just choose one that has a blue glass color to it.

I bought a cheap pair of bulbs from my local shop for 20 bucks, you all would undoubltedly call them ricer bulbs, but theyre white when they burn, and they dont look blue in the headlight itself. Theyre also a whole lot brighter than my friends Cobra with Sylvania Silverstars. After comparing the two cars right next to eachother I have concluded I will never buy Silverstars.

Sylvania SilverStars!!!!......Hands down the best halogen bulb on the market. Even better if you do the 9005 conversion on them. These are the whitest and brightest bulbs I have seen. I did the 9005 conversion with them and I will never use any other bulb (other then HID). The lumen output of the 9005 SilverStars is 1700, higher then any halogen highbeam bulb on the market. If you want headlights with the most light output to the road go with these. If you want the ricer blue or purple look then some other bulb would be better for you. Or you could just own all and go with 4200K HID's

What’s “HT people”, stop confining people into certain classifications. The guy clearly stated that he wants HID look but will not spend the money. It’s like saying he wants to hit 300hp but don’t want to spend the money. It’s common sense: you get what you paid for, surprisingly, not everyone knows that. What I don’t understand is why you would harbor such sheer stupidity by defending him when “HT people” did not condemn him?
I didn’t know all 50,000 members of “HT people” are morons; I better stop posting here to prove that I am not a moron. Geez, stop being a cry baby *****.

There's a write up about Silverstars in this month's Motor Trend. They stated that they are some of the brightest bulbs short of HID's, but they also burn hotter resulting in a 50% shorter bulb life.
ive seen PIAA look brighter then silviana, bu thte amount that you ever change your bulbs with those cheap blue lights porlly blows out every month or so..so it slike 30 bucks with in a year you can get some used HID;s

um, read again, he said "typical morons". either you fall under that category or you really do believe he meant every one of us? i guess that's the same thing..
so let's try this again. of the cheapo brands it seems nokya is the preferred one. dont be surprised if it dies on you within a few months or less. do not let your bare hands touch the bulbs, any grease is bad.
next up would be silverstars for 40/pair. i think people tweak the 9007's to fit, but you are using a higher wattage and some have claimed premature failure.
above that would be raybrig, which is the aftermarket branch of stanley, for about 80/pair. piaa's are around the same price also.
finally there's the real hid for 250+, but of course that doesnt pertain to your question.
btw, if you have a 90-93, jdm lights offer both higher visibility and better looks for about 150.

All 9005 bulbs are rated at 1700 lumens. I had both 9005 Cool Blues and Silverstars and honestly they both put out right about the same amount of light. If you really want the best light output AND best bang for the buck, go with 9005 converted Cool Blues.
But I just have to show this, 4300K Phillips HID vs. 9005 Silverstar

hahaha you're typing that as if you're actually saying the words, as if you had just reacted to the end of his post as you were typing the response... that's kinda funny
If you want the most lumen output, get Philips Vision Plus. It has 20% more light then Silverstar. That's for halogens. It's getting much cheaper to just invest in a quality kits like Catz. You won't regret it. Now that HID's are seeing stage 3 which is using 50w ballast that produce 5000 lumens, the original 3200 lumen like Philips/Hella will become much more standarized and cheaper
PS: Some of you need to grow up.

I have the Raybrig 702k. I dont have HID...and probably wont ever find one for my H4h setup. The Raybrigs do fine for a normal bulb...and are OEM quality from Stanley
