Never just "Check" the timing belt, Always replace it every 60,000 miles. If you do not know for sure that the timing belt was changed at 120,000 miles, Make sure you do it. Timing belts will fatigue and you cannot see it just by looking. I am sure everyone on here will agree with me. I had a 1990 CRX Si and a timing belt let go at 70,000 miles, But I was very lucky I had no damage caused by it. Change it!

Sure you can check for fatique, just check the sides of the teeth on the belt if they're cracking replace it, if not check other obvious areas for cracks.
