what solvent should i use to clean my block.
i am doing a rebuild. got block back and i told them after they had honed it and hot tanked it to resurface the block, so there is tiny netal shavings everywhere. which solvent should i use to clean it all before assembly?
but yeah if you just wanna get the shavings out use brake cleaner. it should do any harm. if you wanna clean the block, like to make it pretty. I used a steel brush and simple green.
i got the block hot tanked and it is great
to hot-tanking. the motor had a bad cam seal and i never replaced it cuz i knew the motor was coming out and if youve ever seen an engine with a leaking cam gear it gets real dirty real fast.
what do you think about this?:

I wouldn't do it. I rings usually seat in the first 20 minutes of running so they are already worn for the motor they came out of. for 100 bucks you should buy new rings man.
