Default For those who have used a clay bar (easy question)

Ok, the time has come to clay bar my car. My question is, how long should I give myself to do it? I searched for "clay bar", and everyone said it takes awhile, but I need to know about how long it really takes. Thanks.

Just depends on how fast you work. I usually take about 30-40 minutes to clay it down, and another 30-40 minutes to add some wax.

hope this helps.

I also take 30-40 minutes to clay the paint. Also, fallout etches glass, so don't forget to clay all windows. My friend who works at a detail shop told me so.

Then cleaner wax, polish, and a carnuba wax/sealer.

There are a ton of good quality products out.

usually when I do a complete detail inside and out i give myself an entire day. For the clay itself, an hour tops depending on how many beer breaks you take. I also like to wash the car again after I clay.

whaa 30-40 min u crazy.

it took me about 5 hours total to do it all.

wash really well (30-45 min)

clay bar (2 hours)

wax (1.5 hours)

and of course me being a lazy ***, water breaks alot

but set aside a whole afternoon on a saturday or somthing. you dont want to rush it, might as well take your time if you gonna do it...

it helped my paint alot btw!

Thanks for the replies. The only reason I ask is because I can't do it in the middle of the day because it's WAY too hot here. I have to start it when it cools down a little, but the carwash by my apartment shuts all the lights off at 10:00, and that's the only available place for me to do it. I'm going to get started on it as soon as I leave work (30 mins.). Thanks again.
