Default How to strengthen motor mounts....

I keep breaking my drivers side upper motor mount on my 96 civic...It may be my rear mount thats causing it to do that so i gotta change it...But is there any way to strengthen up that drivers side upper mount...Friend of mine said to make a small hole and put some type of poly urethane gel/adhesive in it to make it stronger...Think that would help?..please any info would work...Oh and yes i know some people are gonna say stop being cheap and get motor mounts but i just need an altrenative for now...cash flow is tight if you know what i mean...thanks

Do a search. There have been a few topics recently covering motor mount inserts and putting 'window-weld' in them as well.

If you can find some urethane or window weld to fill the mounts up with that would help im sure. Maybe some Energy Suspension inserts could help you out a little. Of course the obvious choice would be new mounts but if ur tight on cash those are 2 alternatives. Pep boys i know carries the ES inserts...run ya around 40 bucks or so....... I believe. Good luck
