Motor mount inserts help
Can stiff motor mount inserts crack a car body? I saw in a thread, from my searching, somewhere that energy suspension was no longer going to make the side motor mounts due to cracking. I'm looking for some inserts for my crx motor mounts b/c the stock motor mounts are cracking kind of bad. The passegers side is the mount that made me decide that i wanted to work on the motor mounts and now i hear that a stiff motor mount( mainly the side mounts) can cause cracks. Is this actually true? If so what should i do to my motor mounts. Which are better the energy or the prothane inserts? If you have anyother suggestions please post them. Will inserts be as stiff as what Hasport motor mounts are? I'm just wondering how stiff they really are.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Motor mount inserts help (george34)
well it depends on how stiff we are talking... i know hasport's race inserts are pretty much unstreetable, and there are a lot of people who also dislike the street/strip type also. the street hasports are probably what you want to get unless you are putting like 300 hp to the ground. the issue is significantly more vibration in the car. i know i filled my mounts with 3m window weld and vibration only got a little worse, but i deffinetly like the feel. so its kinda how much vibration you are willing to tolerate, as well as how much hp you are making that really neccesitates the need for firmer mounts.
