Default SOHC headwork – basic questions

I'm toying with the idea of getting headwork done on my Y8. Do most porting services only port the head or do they do valvejobs at the same time? Can you buy package deals where you get a port job, cam, retainers, etc.? How much do port-jobs typically cost? Any good websites with this info?

Talk to exospeed, I believe that they offer what you are looking for.

yes sushiboy, most if not all head shops will get the parts you are looking for,and will give you a valve job.If they dont do it themselves, they will get it done at someone elses shop, I personalily do valve jobs for two other porters in my area due to the fact they dont have a seat and guide machine.prices will vary from shop to shop but a street port and vavle job wil run you about $600-800 and race about $900-1200.

Cool. Will a port/polish with a different cam make it more difficult to pass emissions? I assume it will because the valves are opening up more letting more o2 an exhaust in and out … but then again, I'd guess it depends on how agessive of a cam you use, right?

it would have more to do with the cam and tuning of the motor but it depends on state u live in if it will pass.
