Default Wet Sanding

I'm a novice painter. After I paint, do I wet sand before I clear coat? What exactly is wet sanding? Do I get some wet/dry sand paper, spray some water down and start sanding?

yes, sand between coats of paint, if you want, but its not necessary. When you clear coat, wet sand after its dry completely with 1500-2000 grit wet or dry paper. Then buff with high speed buffer with compound, then polish....best bet, leave it to an expert or read a book or something....

before you clear the car..tack rag the car again to get rid of any dirt/dust/overspary left by sparing the paint....after tackin the car..put down the clear. when your done..wait over night to let the clear dry. then wetsand again with 1200-2000. then buff.
if you do everything right. should come out looking great.
GOODLUCK!

Wet sanding is applied after the clear has cures and hardened which is not done the next day the clear has been applied. If you wet sand the day after depending on what kind of clear brand you have used could cause hazzing. This clouds the fresh coat of clear and the car after buffing can still remain dull.

Wet sanding (also noted as color sanding is done with a finer grit sand paper (the black kind with water (lol): grit 1000 on up)

Leave this done to someone who knows what wet sanding is. I recommend taking it to a shop.

Mor emoney saved in the long run and done the way you want.
