Does anyone have a Mugen E.C.U. ( not a reprogrammed copy) in there ITR that they would like to rent/lease for Dyno testing? I know, why would anyone want to do this??? I would like to dyno it in my 00 ITR before I drop the cash on one. I am willing to compensate the E.C.U. owner for there trouble. It would take 4 days total down time. Overnight it to me (I pay shipping) I dyno it the next day, Overnight it back to you. The e.c.u. would not be open, copied , tampered with in any way, only plugged in a run on the dyno.I have plenty of referances on this board that can vouch for me if needed. I just dynoed a Spoon t.b. for David from R&D motorsports a couple of weeks ago. Let me know.

were u using the stock cams or high lift cams??
God, I have another question for u....I was wondering if the Apexi Power FC is a stand alone unit; in that it replaces the stock ecu on the ITR? If so, will it lack the O2 sensor and Crank sensor like the JDM ecu has?

Dan, What other mods did you have on the car at the time. Its hard to beleive it doesn't do anything because so many people are using "Mugen programs". I don't know if rules mandate a factory stlye e.c.u. ? but the Realtime cars use dropin Mugen e.c.u.? I have also heard that by just switching from obd2>obd1 is worth a couple of h.p.

I posted my dyno (Jon) at the Integra Dyno Center of my 2000 ITR with Mugen ECU, I/H/E and Mugen valvesprings. Somewhere in the 180s if I remember correctly.
The main benefits for the Mugen program are a rich fuel curve, no CEL if you run a straight pipe, plug n' play installation, lower VTEC xover and higher redline - which makes the useable powerband of VTEC bigger.
I liked mine a lot (it has since been re-chipped with Toda Spec B maps by Yoshio).

i used the mugen ecu with all the products they designed it for including the jdm spec motor..it did the same as the stock computer..except for the lower vtec point and raised redline..save yourself the money..its a 1300.00 vafc..hehehe..i like it because i can run my testy pipe no problems...ive piggy backed mine with a vafc..the mugen ecu is still a little lean by itself..my 2 cents
I got mad gains by dropping it in. anywhere from 5-8 hp gains and tq as well.
if anyone has that dumb winpep viewer (not the dos one, it doesn't work)
I'd love to share the graphs.

Hey Dan (God)
I have a suggestion. Why don't you go into a little more detail on WHY the ECU didn't help on your SPECIFIC engine setup, because it sure helped on mine and quite a few others.
Your short, uninformitive comments don't help answer anything.

Well here were my mods at the time:
AEM
JDM header
Test pipe
cam gears
UR pullies
3 inch exhaust
stock camshafts
Gained nada VERY very rich just like the stock ECU.
Plugged in Power FC (nothing else changed) gained 6-7 whp peak. I've seen those "Mugen programs" (which coincidently also run super rich). I have to wonder what they are actually using though. The Mugen mapping for ITR will not work in a regular ECU. Yoshio tried it once. The internals are too different.
My friend also tried the Mugen on his Type R with spec B's. Lost 15 whp compared to Yoshio's ECU but that's to be expected. 190 v 175.
Yes Power FC is standalone plug and play. No OBD-II since it is JDM spec (OBD-II is a US/Canadia only thing)

p.s. he still knows his ****!

Actually Phat R, that dyno plot was 171whp, 120 tq.
Not all that impressive, considering I got that with a filter and a cocked up muffler.
Mind you, I only spent 60bucks on the filter and I made the muffler myself.
The Mugen ECU/program is crap for our shores. Period.

LOL! Here's that kinfe Big Phat R. Never know where you find those suckers.
Thanks by the way but there are many here on this board that have good Honda know how (unlike many other boards).

No dyno to give you but Mugen "clone" via locash REALLY helped LS/VTEC hybrid with MUCH increased midrange power and much more power out of the hole at the track with 8k launch......

Anyways - what was I saying?
Must be those purple pills. duh duh duh duh2fknfst - when are you going to race your car? those rings must be set by now...?
Why would you want a richer program if the factory program is already too rich???
Get the rev limiter pulled and get a vafc and lean that sucker out.

As I posted a few months back. I made 188hp and 133tq with the following setup.
- JDM 4-1 header
- Mugen ECU
- test pipe w/o muffler
- B&M fuel pressure riser
13k miles, internally stock, even the stock airbox.
