Default Tires (it's been asked but need additional info...)

I need replacement tires, but will be driving in Arizona so rain is not an issue at all! I could car less about wet traction. I just want a decently priced tire with grip as good as the RE010. Any suggestions?

RE-730's are awesome in the rain and SUPERB in the dry. Cant recommend a better tire.

Boba- who suggests you go to 205-50-15's in that size.

Your more than welcome. I had a set on my Black iTR before i went to 16's and sold them too 20004drGSR, he loves them. I dont think dollar for dollar there is a better tire out there for what your needs are.

Yes. Get the RE010.

Don't compromise a high-performance car by trying to save a few bucks with so-so-performance tires.

The falken Azenis tire is great, but I got it b/c it will be better in the rain too...that is not a factor for you so I would go with a "summer" tire...the RE010's are still good tires, just not in bad weather.

Pirelli Pzero also comes in a summer tire...

But is it going to be street only? you may want to go with a set of tires that goes (hehehe) N'Sync w/ your driving needs...

that should lead ultimately to your decision. The Azenis tire IS a good choice for that. they heat pretty quickly and from what I've heard from Yoshi (haven't tested them myself yet) on the track they are good too!

Hope this helps

Let me clarify guys, I want a tire JUST FOR STREET DRIVING.

I am looking for something with good performance on street.

I am going to buy an extra set of rims to mount nice tires on for the track.

I just want a decent tire for only dry weather that will grip well.

In my opinion, the Yokohama AO32 tires are some of the best tires you can buy for street use. They are street legal, and they are competition tires, so the dry weather grip is amazing. They'll stick better then any max or ultra high performance tire (i.e. Pirelli PZero, etc.). Check them out on tirerack.com. $135 for 205x50x15.

I'm running Bridgestone S-03s in 205/50/15 and I would say they are actually a better tire than the 010s. They feel just like the 010s did new: No complaints when pushed even when brand new, quiet but comfortable, stick like crazy. Overall, an excellent tire. Hasn't been wet, so I can't speak about wet traction.

I went with some less expensive tires previously, and I wasn't pleased with them. So don't let $$ be your deciding factor on one of the most important handling items on your car. The extra money is worth it when it comes to tires.

I had Bridgestone 730s on my R now, but I wasn't too satisfy with its performance, grip is noticably less than 010 on dry surface, steering feeling is also less direct. Overrall, I would not recommend it to another R owner even if it is only for street use, I feel the car's handling has been downgrade by 20%. I am goingto save the money for another set of tries, probalbe 032 or 054. Anyone has any experience with 054? I know the new version of 032 has released, what is the model number, where can I get a hold of it? and how $$$?

"good performance tire" is subjective to the driver's need...

Having said that, get RE730 or Ecsta Supra 712's. These will give you good enough grip for daily driving. And, have a set for weekend. I use 712's for 50miles-per-day commute and RE010 for weekends. Mine main issue was to have a good wet-traction tires for daily driving...
