Just wondering why we can post the names of theives here? Its no different then what gets posted in the newspaper. They'll post their names too. You just need to put in the word "allegedly" or "the accused". No ones saying to go lynch them. Just reporing the facts.

Apologies to the mods, didn't think posting the names would be inappropriate.

True. But isn't talking about honda thieves okay?
I know we can post that our car got messed with or stolen.
And we can post where it happened. Why not who the accused are?
I think its just good public knowledge. Nones going to go lynch anyone.
Posting their names isn't illegal. I think it will be of benifit to all ITR owners.

How is this going to benefit ITR owners?

Guy at local street races or autox *hi nice ITR*
ITR owner *thanks, whats your name?*
Guy at local street races or autox *Mike*
ITR owner *oh, i cant talk to you cuz you were accused of stealing a car*

You are innocent until proven guilty.

If word gets out, that if you get busted, trying to steal a ITR that your name will be made available to all ITR owners, it might be a little more deterrent than the fear of getting locked up for 48hours.

I agree with Boba.. plus the original post did use the phrase "If anyone's in for some vigilante justice let me know." which is bad because: 1) it's obviously an illegal thing to do and 2) there might be some morons on here who might just go and do something to the thieves, which WOULD get redblues into some legal trouble.

It was just a bad idea to post names, period. It benefits NO ONE and can only cause more problems in what is a simple case. Let the justice system handle it.

I can see where your coming from wanting to put their names out etc, But remember if anything happens and someone knew of this post they could try to use it against you saying that you tryed to get people to go after those guys.
Just be happy they were caught Some of us weren't that lucky and only got their car back and not the satisfaction of having the thieves in jail.

I think it was at least helpful to post the address of the alleged chop shop. At least for future reference, we should all know not to park anywhere near that area.

Well, you really shouldn't be parking in NYC at all!
