Default JDM DC5 ITR Valve Springs

Can anyone suggest a website to go to get these: "TODA also mentioned that Honda is now using [B[/B]single springs of a higher class material for the newer Type-R's . " I have already tried several JDM sites including http://www.jdmhondaparts.com, and my searches on yahoo for ordering Honda JDM parts directy have been unsuccesful. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yes I was quoting from Hondata.com. Well I really would prefer to go as much JDM as possible, cams, pistons, intake manifold, etc., but I just have this nagging feeling bout the valve spring in my '02 Type S. I was there was some way to confirm the new '03 or '04 RSX-R springs where made of this new higher grade material, and someway to buy them direct. I mean if worse comes to worse, I probably will end up going with TODA. Mugen I have heard is a a hassle to live with. Just really wanted to go as much JDM as possible.

There was a cut off point when honda switched over to a single intake valve spring setup on the Type S's. I believe it was after the production number of ~33,000. Mine fell right under the cut off point, so i still have the dual intake valve spring setup.

There was a big discussion about this over at clubrsx. Supposedly, the single valve spring setup up with handle mechanical misshifts better, and the dual will handle higher RPM's better. Don't quote me on this, but that's what people are saying over at clubrsx. All 2003 model [edit]Type S's[edit] should have the single intake valve spring setup in their cars already. I'm not sure if it's the same single valve spring in the DC5-R's, but they more then likely are.

I heard that the dual valve spring setup in the earlier 2002 model Type S's were too stiff, and would cause the retainer to snap off of the valve. With a raised rev-limiter, it would be wise to just go ahead and upgrade to aftermarket valve springs.

Great thanks for the info. Then does anyone know an aftermarket company that would sell valve springs for the K-series engine that would work with the JDM camshafts? ...and like I said before if I really would rather not go with a TODA or MUGEN package, unless I have too. Thanks

I don't know what's out for the K series engine yet. But since you are gonna get new camshafts and springs etc, may as well get better stuff than what a type r has. At least toda spec A's or something equivelant.

Well, I guess I'm gonna have to go with the TODA package then. I already tried researching this topic on both clubrsx.com, and 7thgencivic.com, with no results, so I figured if anyone knew, it would be the people on Honda-tech.com. But I've got over 70 views on this topic and nothing concrete yet. Well, I'm gonna finish saving the last of the $ for the TODA package then, and if anyone does have an answer to the above, it would be much appreciated. The reason I wanted to go with OEM/JDM parts was because I wanted to squeeze some extra power out the engine, but still have it be as reliable as F---! And I know Honda parts would be the best quality, fit, and reliability, despite not the most powerful of the N/A packages.

These are not the ITR springs, but they are the new single springs for the USDM model for anyone interested.

Select RSX-S, 03, etc. then from the parts list pick Valve Rocker Arm (Type-S).

I think it's safe to say that TODA has proven their reputation over time for safe and reliable, esp considering it's the Spec A kit that you're looking at.

So I am going to go with the TODA package(Spec A cams, ECU, Springs). So beyond intake, headers, exhaust, I was wondering if the JDM Type R intake manifold would be a bolt-on that would work well with this package, and be beneficial. Thanks.
