Default Where's a good place to buy a steering rack?

I've read it here before and I tried searching for it but with no success. As the question states, just looking for a cheap place to buy a rack. TIA

I'd prefer new or rebuilt.

I'd have to dig up the reciept. But off the top of my head $290.00.
The problem is compounded by the fact that NO-ONE makes rebuilt ones. And honda doesn't sell rebuild kits.
But I still have my old one if you want to attempt to rebuild it.

$300ish really aint that bad IMO, I will have to look into that. How much time did it take for the install? on a scale from 1-10 how difficult was the process? Did the rack include any new bushings or anything w/it? TIA

someone on this board found a dealership (even had the link) in Texas that sold Honda OE steering racks for less than $200. i want to say the price was around $170. but ever since that post has disappeared and i can't find the damn link.

and many places offer rebuilt steering racks btw. the ones i've seen are all a lot more than $200 though.

Yeah, I don't think $300 is bad for a brand new honda rack. Let us know where you got it and exactly how much. I need to get one really soon before mine goes out.

Yeah, It was in the $300. area somewhere. I got a bunch of other stuff at the same time and the total bill was like $600. So the rack must have been around $300. The R&R itself wasn't so bad its the other stuff that goes with it that sucks. Definately YOU NEED A HELMS. It HELPS, ALOT.
It took 4-5 hours actual time. To R&R rack and ancilliary items, exhaust, steering coloum knuckle. BITCH PIN(aptly named). YOU NEED an 8mm
tapered punch. We went to 3 or 4 stores and bought a punch set for $10.00. On a scale of 1-10 difficulty. I give it 3.5-4.5, like I said NOT HARD, but it is tedious. The new rack comes with NOTHING. Just the rack, the pinion, and the housing. You WILL need inner/outer tie rod ends, new tie-rod boots and the hardware to mount all of the above or
reuse the old stuff. Some things I bought new. Some was reused old parts.

Which bushings are talking about?
