space between the axle/trans = knocking sound HELP PLZ
Ok, I just did an integra front brake swap on my 96 cx. After driving it around for a little while I noticed this knocking noise from the engine. I checked under to see what it was and the passenger side axle has a little gap between the tranny. The gap is small enough so it can't be seen but when you pull/push on the axle it makes a little thud. I assume thats whats making the noise.
The noise comes around when I do U-turns or sometimes when I come to a stop then engage it in gear again. Both hub/knuckles have the metal spacer between the hub and the axle. Anyone ever have this problem before? Any tips on fixing this? And last... will this cause a problem in the long run (axle go bad or something) ?

sounds like the axle popped out of its "seat" take a big mallet and wack the hub of the axle (outer side) that should pop it back in. and yes its a bad thing.
note: be careful not to mushroom the axle
