Need help with crx problems!!
Ok, heres the deal. Last week I put different rims and tires on my crx. I went from my HXs with 185/60/14 tires with perfect tread wear and prolly 90% tread on em. I threw on a set of 00 GSR rims with the stock Michilens 195/55/50 with even tread wear there is no inner tire wear from the car being lowered at all on both sets of tires, maybe 40-50% tread is left on the Michilens. Now my car pulls to the left really bad and when I brake the steering wheel tilts to the right really bad. The steering wheel seems to straighten out a little at higher speeds. Oh yeah, and the tires are inflated properly and the tires make squeaking noises sometimes when braking and almost every single time I make a tight turn. What could be causing this?? The car did not pull before with the HXs and it did not tilt the steering wheel under braking.....All I did was put different wheels on it, now the car feels like ***, I can't even stand driving it........Any ideas fella's?????

well from what I know....you changed the diameter of the tires and the width....plus the rim is heavier........
GET AN ALIGNMENT! seriously, I have the same problem with my 13in VX wheels to my 15 in Si wheels...even when I changed my azenis to nittos my car acted funny, and still does....
Balance and rotate your tires, get an alignment.......and you'll be set..

Tire pressure is good, checked all 4 wheels......

fyi, the squealing you hear is b/c those stock michelins suck major ***!
usually the steering wheel will move around more with tires that have a big center groove. this is what people refer to as their tires "follow the road". my kumhos do that REALLY bad.

I agree about the tires being shitty.......other people have told me that too. My car does also "follow the road" a lot more than it did with my HX wheels........

did you check the pressure with the tires cold?... when your tires are hot the pressure rises about 8psi on average, so say your getting a reading of 32psi when its really more about 24psi... so keep that in mind... and also get the wheels and tires balanced before getting an alignment... its alot cheaper and more than likely the problem, besides the air pressure

when i had the stock michelins on my 99 teg, i didn't think they followed the road at all. my kumhos definitely follow the road.
maybe b/c you incresed the tire width if feels like the car follows the road??? or in fact it does but its not too much (as compared to other setups)...
i am going to get an alignment on my car very soon. i know i need one so maybe that will reduce the "follow the road" syndrome its got...

Just for info purposes there is a FAQ on http://www.tirerack.com
about the "following the road groove" phenomonon. Tire Rack
calls it "tramline" Good info,there.
HTH
EDIT: can't find the FAQ, maybe it was on a flier they sent me. Sorry, everyone. I'll keep looking for the article, though.

I had the same problem when I switched from smaller wheels to larger wheels. Definitely get your wheels / tires aligned and balanced ASAP.
