Default Somethin real bad with my car today...please any help is appreciated.

This is on a stock '98 ITR with just AEM CAI.

So today, me and a few friends were driving up to Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, Wisconsin. After we turned onto an open road, i punched it, and shifted to second hard. It grinded slightly, and i thought nothing of it. Then a few minutes later, i notice my clutch feeling a bit bumpy/clicky (??). When I would start off normally, my car would bog, and wheel hop at 1500-2000 rpms. I got to the track...and let it cool down. Everything seemed fine, so i tried to make a run. I launched at 5500, tried shifting to second...hit the rev limiter because my tranny was not shifting into gear. It would not go into 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear. I put it in 5th and costed to the finish.
I then met up with some friends (one being cheezethis on this board) who were meeting us up at the track, and ask if they had any ideas. A few guys suggested that i should get my tranny fluid flushed, master and slave cylinder fluids replaced. Cheeze also commented that it could be my Rod Bearing (i think?) that was not allowing me to go into gear. Let me explain my problem a little bit more in depth...the higher the rpms are...the harder it is to shift into gear. Anything above 5000 will not go into gear. It is even hard to get it out of gear. Any ideas? Clutch going? Rod bearing? All help is GREATLY appreciated.

i wouldn't think that one hard shift would cause your clutch to go bad...your throw-out bearing might be damaged, but you'll have to take the tranny off to look at it. if your tranny fluid has never been replaced, it might be helpful, but i doubt that's the actual problem. if you somehow got air in your hyraulic line or managed to get low on fluid, that could be a problem, but the higher rpm symptom makes this tricky though. i can't promise that this is the case, but it's a relatively easy start. check the fluid level first, then bleed it.

Sounds like the clutch not disengaging. Start with changing the clutch fluid and trans oil. If you still feel the "clicking" then the pressure plate or throwout bearing are not well. That means new clutch. Have you done much drag racing with this car? If so, the clutch will have a fairly short lifespan. Consider using an aftermarket clutch upgrade based on how you really use the car.
