crx = evil!
i will never drive one again, although, i sure like them. little nimble ****** things.
to make a long story short, i didn't realize the stock crx was going 90mph until the police officer kindly let me know with a wreckless driving ticket.

LOL... those reckless tickets hurt pretty bad. I don't even have a working speedo right now so im sure i'll be getting one soon enough.

Heres a small update.....The previous owner paid a shop over 4000.00 for the swap in this car!!!!!! All i will say for now is that it's a damm good thing we pulled it out and tore it down today.... I wont post the shops name for now but after seeing the quailty of the work comming out of shops these days is terrible..
first we did a leakdown..cyl 1 5% Awesome
cyl3 50% leakdown
cyl 4 40%
cyl 2 20%
We went to remove the crossmember, none of the radius rods were tight!!! like almost a 1/4 out.
When i test drove the car i told mike that something was all fugged up in the fron end..lol Well we found it.
The car has a 4-1 header, well they didnt even notch or ban or touch the crossmember, so you can guess what happened to the header.
When the motor was installed with the hasport mounts , they never notched the rear crossmember either.
The ground wire from the battery went from the battery to the tranny, the bung was there for the framerail but I guess they dont think that was needed..
1 bolt holding on the altenator(the top one)
1 bolt holding on the starter, the short one.
Missing 1 bolt on the tranny mount, the one thats hard to get to under the frame mount on the hasport kit.
Missing 2 bolts on the rear tranny mount, the factory teg unit thats required with the hasport kit.
Extended 02 wire with butt connector which didnt even have shrink wrap on it.(Solder is your frien guys)
Timming belt covers were trimmed and part got sucked into behind the cam gear and melted and caused a mess.
Inner timming belt cover was not secure and had a grove cut into it from the timming belt rubbing it
open vacume lines covered by electrical tape
aftermarket cooling fan was wired in, they tapped the distributor power wire on top of the dist for a trigger wire.
Rear tranny motor mount was missing the large spacer washer.
The center Dowl pin under the center cam cap was missing the freaking dowl pin.
the rear main seal was coverd with hondabond, they gooped up the back of the flywheel and then just pressed it on as if that would seal a rear main seal leak.
The clutch was adjusted so far out that there was constant pressure on the disk so the stage 3 disk is junk.
We pulled the head to inspect the block . It must have sat for awhile as the cyls were rusted so baddly that the walls where the piston were positioned were pitted. This kid has driven the car daily sice he got the swap 6 months ago , so it has been like this all along...
And heres the big kicker and why this motor is now a paper weight,, The breather box on the back of the motor was not bolted in but pushed in and sealed with a old oring and hondabond, well it was hanging off the back of the block and thats where all the oil was comming from.. The oil was just splashing out the back of the block.
Also the head needs to be checked as i beleive one of the valve seats dropped, one of the valves sits lower than the rest, i pulled a few and it seems like the seat migh have dropped a few thou.
So in all we saved this car from a ricer but it sucks that no one could save the ricer from these crap shops. We have a new bottom end for it being prepped(used) and had hoped to have it running tommorow, but now we need a new clutch and the head might need some work..
Oh yeah one last thing..si jdm tranny(small spline)
It had a nreaking BIG spline 92 and up clutch disk. any shop that can make that mistake should not be changing oil inmy eye's. Real good thing that the clutch was slipping so bad that the splines on the tranny didnt get chewed up.
I have gone back to add thing every 2 min to this post,,lol My brain hurts...
theres more , I'm sure Mike will chime in with what I cant remember....

yeah Tbone pretty much summed it all up. there isn't too much more that i can add.
I'm just really glad i have someone to help me out in the project. Should be on the road again in 2 week.
anyways i'll have some more updated pics in the next week or so with the motor back in :crosses fingers:
