i am about to buy a gunmetal hatchback, but the only problem is that the engine bay isnt painted, and its still OEM purple.

does anyone know how much it will cost to paint the engine bay?

Cheap way... paint it black yourself... expensive way... about $500 depending on where you get it painted.

Because that's what most people do. It's an accepted way of cheaping out!
Just buy some cans of flat black Krylon and go at it!

That's such a hot color. I think a black engine bay would be pretty dope actually. So why not?

Because black hides the factory paint, and goes with any color that he chooses. It would be pretty expensive to paint the bay if the motor isn't pulled.
