Default OT: Anyone here ever had to deal w/ State Referee

Just got harassed by LA cops. Basically he pulled me over for my HID lights and asked me to pop my hood and start inspecting. Shouldn't have open my hood but anywayz...he cited me for mod lights and intake system. I have the AEM CAI w/ cad number and he said its not legal. He put a sticker on the back of my ticket required me to go to the state referee and have the car check out.

Now my question is, i'm pretty sure they'll check the whole car when I go there. Now, can they cite me for modify exhaust when then inspect my car? I have AEM CAI and DC JDM header and Rm-01A exhaust. I don't know if the DC JDM header has CAD number or not but i know the RM-01A is not legal. How should I deal with this?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

All exhausts are smog legal. The only problem with them is if they are too loud.

Your header will not pass. Your AEM CAI "should" pass if the sticker is for the right year. Depends how strict they are and if they run the carb #.

Just bad bad luck. Hope you weren't in Rowland cause they are just dick around there nowadays.

HID are never legal unless they came with the car from the factory.

There's HID and then there's H I Freaking D.

People installing aftermarket HID can have unfortunate consequences. Anyone who's had to lead Victor's JDM ITR at night can testify that they are ridiculously blinding.

This is no help to the original poster, but I couldn't let the comment pass.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I have the JDM stock HID lights.
