Are all b-series AC mounts the same? If so, I have a couple quick q's
Hey all
I recently took my car to the strip and when we were leaving I noticed my engine felt like it was moving more than normal. So today after work I looked at the front AC mount and there is only 1 bolt left in place, is it possible that those 4-5 missing bolts in the front AC mount are causing this? If so, how much do u think a shop would charge to put them back in (the engine is mis-aligned with respect to the mount so I can't just put bolts back in).
Thanks a bunch,
mike

scary...if i were you, id put the front end of the car up on jack stands and then gently jack the engine up until the bolt holes line up and stick them back in yourself. that's free. if you're missing the bolts, i might have a few extra, depending on if my new motor will have them included...
its not a totally "vital" mount tho is it? I mean, sure its there for a very good reason. I also noticed, with that mount loose, the head of me engine actually hit the bottom of the hood
it's there for a good reason. i usually don't doubt much of what honda does. besides, if your engine is moving that much that it hit the bottom of the hood, wouldn't you want to fix it?

i understand its there for good reason, i was just asking if that only having one bolt left would cause it to hit the bottom of the hood.
thanks for your help,
mike
p.s. do u know the bolt sizes?
