Japanese motors have obd?
basically its like this:
88-91 non-obd
92-5 obdI
96-98 obdII
99-00 obdII (2nd.)
this is the basic division of different electronic and emission systems used.
in japan, this was the case, only in plugs, so JDM 96+ engines by plugs are OBDII but with OBDI electronics and emmissions used. so there is not added new sensors in 96+, just new plugs and slightly different ecu boards and proggraming, making it difficult to re-chip
