Default D16Z6 use chipped PM6 or convert to 0BD1 w/P28

Hi All,

I did some searching however I couldn't find the answer. Most comparisons I've read are between running a stock PM6 with vtec controller vs. converting to OBD1. Well what about running a chipped PM6 with P28 timing and fuel maps along with vtec controller vs. converting to OBD1 and running the P28. Any opinions?? Thx.

You'll get the best results doing a full OBD-1 conversion, if it's just a plain Z6 longblock you're swapping in. Once you have the P28 ECU, there are plenty of mods you can easily do to the ECU to compensate for future motor mods.

I agree, I am in the process of converting my 88 HF to OBD1. I am using a P08 ECU (Civic VTi) With my JDM D15b. You shoudl also see improvments in you fuel milage, along with drivability. You cant go wrong when you conver to OBD1.

Thx for all the encouragement. Sounds like going OBD1 is a no brainer. Any need to keep the Fields SFC-VTEC controller? I'm thinking I should sell it to offset the conversion costs.
