i'm planning to put in my ACT six puck clutch with extreme pressure plate. is it smart to use regular motor oil to break in the clutch and then switch to redline manual transmission fluid? thanks in adv.
what oil you use in your trans should have no effect on clutch break in. I would use Honda MTF. YOu will need a clutch alignment tool, a 12 point 12mm socket for the pressure plate. I use an air hammer with a valve guide bit to remove the shift linkage pin- a hammer and drift punch will work fine. Any other tools are nothing special. I do find using 17mm and 19mm impact swivel sockets on 1/2" extensions to be the most valuable with my impact gun. Have fun
Thats funny, me and fixhonda basically use the same tools, except i don't use a clutch alignment tool, I use my finger!
( 3/8 craftsman 12mm deep well chrome socket w/ an extension works for me also)
Do yourself a favor and make sure the clutch disc "splines" match up easily w/ the trans shaft splines with the transmission outta the car.. its just a bitch having to wrestle w/ tight splines while holding a transmission above yer head!
