Default 91 civic si hub problems... quick question

Alright everyone... I have a 91 civic si. The hub is screwed in it and I cant get a si hub anywhere in town short of ordering it from honda. My question is -- will any other hub work as a replacement or is my only option to order a new one?

thanks...

DX and LX brakes/knuckles are the same as the Si. The hubs are the same too.

I did a cross reference on the part number on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com (KNUCKLE). It shows the same number for the DX and Si.

So that means that to do my LS/VTEC swap into my 1991 STD hatch I can buy DX knuckles instead of trying to find used SI knuckles? I have been meaning to ask this question also.

No. Use a hub from any 88 - 91 CRX / Civic except the HF and Civic standard (4 speed hatch) models. The EX sedan knuckles might also be different.

If you are fortunate enough to find EX knuckles BUY THEM. They have the same brakes as the integra (10.3"). They have the same number of splines as the DX/Si.

DX, EX, Si hub spline count is the same. The EX is the one to get as it has the larger brakes. However you must use 14" or larger wheels and even some of the 14's require a 3 mm spacer.

Si Ex Dx Lx.. all of them except the STD and HF have the same splines. SI, DX, LX are IDENTICAL from the knuckle out to the brake. The EX has a different knuckle, caliper, and brake.

I was under the impression that if I switched to SI hubs then I would be able to use b-series axels? Maybe I am wrong. Anyone want to clear this up for me?

Yes SI hubs do accept B series axles... I have a b16 with my stock 91 si hubs and it works fine.

So youre saying if I buy 88-91 civic dx or lx hubs they will go right into my exsisting 91 si assembly?

any hubs from a 88-91 civic/crx will work, for the exception of hf(on the crx) and standard 4 speed(on the civic hatch/sedan). the ex will also work, but if you find them also get the brake calipers because your old ones will not bolt up to those.
