Ever add the back seat release to Sol Seat ?
I am putting on the rear seat release to a Del Sol Pass seat in my hatch. It does not have one stock, but am gettting one from a civic seat. The part fit, I just need to drill a hole for one of the studs.
The problem I am having is that the rear handle ONLY tilts the seat-back and does not pull the seat glide at the same time.
I have the steel cable to do this function, but it does not seem to be compatible with the Rails on there (can't find mount for it on the seat back)

interesting, you want to put a release so the rear passenger could tilt the seat forward from the back, my 91 prelude has that "feature", but i don't think it slides the seat forward, which is what you want the del sol seats to do...
doesn't the seat slide forward when the top part is fully "tilted" towards the dash? Oh well, when you figure it out, let us know...good luck

actually in 3rd gen preludes there is a lever between the passenger and drivers seats on the pass seat, that if you pull it up it leans the seat and slides it forwards, then comes back to the same place it was previously in.
its sweet, i love my 90 prelude.
why dont you trying using it from the 3rd gne prelude

He wants his seats to slide forward when he flips the lever like a civic seat.
Im just thinking about who is going to tell him that not all civic seats had that
feature.

I did this, but I have no idea why it's so complicated for this guy. I just switched over all the parts needed from my stock seats. It was really simple. I didn't have to drill anything either.
Good luck.

It's all in the details, dred. You'll be surprised how many things are 'bolt-in' that require at least a little work with a dremel, drill, hacksaw or sander...lol
This is why.... I have Sol seats from a while ago... I swapped over the rails from my 4 dr teg. The Sol seats don't have a rear release because they come from a 2 seater car. BUT... as with many honda parts, they still have the levers necessary to use a pull cable to make the seat slide forward.
In order to get the rear release... I needed to swap the hinge and frame on the right side of the pass seat from a 96 Civic. That went smoothly, but when I went to put in the pull cable that actuates the slider... the cable's mounting point on the rear handle did not allow me to install the cable in the correct position (although there are clearly mounting brackets for that purpose)
Lawd.... this sux....

Oh, I see. I reused the sliders and that hinged piece from my 5th gen coupe. Everything bolted up fine and it all worked. Try to get the hinged piece from a 5th gen, though I don't see why it would be different than a 6th gen. Hope you get it figured out.
