Default Built b18c turbo (how much power do you think?)

Hi all, I'm going to be buying a '92 DX hatch equipped with the following mods:

GSR swap B18C1
Drag Gen III w/ T3/T04E Turbo
HP Racing Intake Manifold
JE 9:1 Pistons
Eagle H Beam Rods
AEM Cam Gears
Thermal 3" Cat Back (no cat)
OBX Short throw
Jacobs Pro Street Ignition with Ultra Coil
Walbro 255 lph Fuel Pump
Apexi Turbo Timer
450cc Injectors
SMC
Tial Wastegate
Clutch Masters Stg 4 clutch kit
JG Pro Series head (not installed) with ARP head studs, brand new head gasket, intake manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, cam seals, throttle body gasket, and more still in the honda packaging.

I know this is probably a dumb question you get sick of, but what kind of power do you think it's putting down at the present time (with the stock head on). It's running 9.5psi off the wastegate spring and has gone 8.5 @87mph if that helps.. My personal guess would be anywhere from 270-290, but I would like to hear your thoughts.

Jon

ill never understand why people build a block and spend 200 on fuel / ecu management. other than that looks great.

You really think that low??

Yea, I hear ya on the fuel/ecu. I'd def be going hondata with larger injectors, and possibly an am fpr.

these will be your bottle neck...go o at least 550cc or more and do a proper standalone and you can do 300+ on htat setup

Its about 800hp.

Just kidding, its my car. I had a AEM EMS on that setup but it just wasn't working for me. Definitely for a pro tuner on a dyno. I would get the tuning pretty close to right and then the car would start running bad because of temp change later the same day. The AEM is definitely not the easy way to go. I would go Hondata if i was going to keep it.

@ what psi? and what size t3/t04e is it? with a better fuel setup and maybe a bigger turbo (depending on what size it has now) theres no reason it can't make 375-400 @16-18psi...I know there was a post in which gruvytune tuned a b18c1 with pistons/rods and it made like 408 @18psi, not sure what size turbo though..

I would think it would make that (240) or something along those lines now (maybe a tad higher).. and definitely higher 200s with good hondata tuning. But, I guess there's only one way to find out

Any recommendations for mid 300s? Í think all it really needs is a boost controller, bg (sending out the block for sleeving would take far too long for my liking), larger injectors, hondata and some tuning.

The engine has forged pistons/rods so it can handle 400whp easily tuned well, theres no need to settle with 2xxwhp, you would just need to get teh fuel system straightened out, Also might want to replace the mani/turbo depending on your goals, Drag mani's are known to have some problems and if its a smaller t3/t04e it might start to lose effiecency @ around 350-375whp.

If you think you know what your power output will be better than me, then why are you asking this question? Do you just want us to pat you on the back and agree with you?

With that little boost on that small a motor, with those tuning aids, I would think you're looking at 210-220 whp.

No, I wasn't looking for a pat on the back but the power figures you threw out there are being acheived on stock gsr motors with nothing more than a jrsc and a 6psi pulley.

I do think I know what it will be better than you (not being a dick), I was looking for people with gsr/boost experience.

I still say 230ish, max, at 9 psi with the mods listed. Build the car and find out.
