overspray?
what's the best way to remove overspray from a car? my friends were telling me about a clay bar, how does that work?
thought i might as well throw a picture in, there's still overspray on the edges of my panels, i've been trying to buff out overspray that was all over the car.

yeah clay bar will take it right off. i had the same problem. it should come with directions on how to use it. but most of the time you spray the lubricant and then clay bar over it. good luck.

I work @ a professional Body shop.. and Clay Bars save our *** alot..
Just clean the area good.. rip out a piece of clay bar (I suggest the Blue Kind.. its super fine and perfect for OverSpray).. just spray some water over the area and rub in the clay bar as hard as you need to in a circular motion..
I suggest, after all the O.S is off.. you go over the area with some spray wax and the clay again.. Good Luck

what if the overspray has been on the car for a long time? like 5 years? does it make any difference?
i'm gonna have to try it.

That just means its going to be harder to get it off.. and if it doesnt come off.. you might just have to wetsand it off (2000 grit water abrasive paper) and buff it (High Speed Buffer and Buffing Compound)..

So I guess there is no "miricle product" that removes minor scratches?

Scratches in the clear coat or in the paint?
If it's in the clear coat you can wetsand it off or use a compound that reflects the light differently so you can't see the scratches.
I dont' know about paint.

Actually, it was from somebody working on my house, spraypainting a door inside my garage. So instead of having a body shop do it, i take 700 dollars from their insurance company, and do it myself....
