I recently got a 89 civic si hatch. I was wondering the engine specs on that, and also I heard its a 1.5 liter. And what will convert from an 91 civic si to mine interior wise?
First pleace use the search function at the top of the page. Its very usefull and can answer most of your questions you have. after a couple hours and no luck. Test out google.com. If you still have no luck. Go ahead and make a post...

use the search button, also you can check out the crx specs on our page http://www.teamsdxracing.com, just click on the crx specs link, also the civic si is a 1.6 liter sohc non vtec, the dx,std, and hf crx and hatch all had dpfi 1.5 liter motors, the 1.6 si engine came with a mpfi d16a6 which was geared more towards performance and style.

nope- it's a typo. you have a 1.6 liter that put out between 100-108 hp depending on year I beleive. It's a peppy motor for having that few ponies & it can put out some good numbers using boltons, cams, and oem honda parts.

Maybe an 87 Si? They were 1.5L and MPFI

goddamn just scrape the oil and crap off the front of the engine block and see what the engine stamp is.
right on the front of the motor where it bolts to the tranny, there's a 1.25" x 1.25" flat place, angled about 25* off vertical. Use some brake cleaner and clean that off, it will tell you the engine code, like this.
also, enter your VIN here

buuuut.. in a EG hatch.. throw a B16 head on it.. add a 75 shot wex NX and run 11.9 and get kicked off the track for no roll bar.. then its a good motor.

It's a heavy pig of a motor especially in an eg. The front would plow into every turn and why not get LS/B16, or just ITR motor would work great.

LS VTEC is a poor flowing block.. needs oil pump, and the crank issue is funny.. the B20 doens't need jack. besides is 2.0.. big tourqe numbers.. heavy? sure.. but how much heavier? 100 lbs? if that.. if i could make an extra 50 hp, ide deal wiht 100 lbs. a ITR.. not everyones rich. besides.. the B20 would make more power over the ITR anyday.
WTF?!? The difference between a B20 and a B18B is about 3mm on the stroke and 6mm on the bore. They weight within a few pounds of each other.
The B20 is basically a big-bore B18B
You must be confusing the B20 with the H22.....
I like your B20/VTEC/NX idea, but I'm more of a B20-T fan myself. My next proj will be either a Subaru 2.5RS turbo or a CR-V turbo.

There is only a difference in bore not stroke (89mm) between the B18a/b and the B20. The bore of the b18 is 81mm like all other B series motors except for the b20 which is 84mm. Why argue about which is better in stock form? These blocks are so closely related and interchangeable, that it's only a question of how fat your wallet is or was...
