Question about converting to OBD-I?
Here is my mods: AEM intake, DC header, test pipe, Apexi N1 exhaust, B&M FPR, and ZEX 55-shot kit. My question is, right now my check engine light is on due to the test pipe, I know that going OBD-I will solve that problem but will the new ECU change timing? My concern about the timing is because of the Nitrous. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Also I have heard some people say that if the check engine light is on after the test pipe is put on that the car is in limp mode or basically not running correctly is this true?
you could custom tune that obd1 ecu - hondata in my case - if tuned right, it will take care of all issues.. or.. just run a cat.. it doesn't hurt much.. really..
if you want the check engine light to go out remove the 2nd o2 sensor from the cat and plug out the hole in the test pipe with a old o2. Take the 2nd o2 and tie it up somewhere under the car i the open that way the computer will think that the cat is working perfect. Good luck

You should not have a CEL if you are running a cat

Why waste an expensive O2, when you could just use the correct sized bolt? But hey, its yours and you can do anything you want.

I understand about the light that is not my concern. My concern is I am trying to squeeze more power out of my car and going OBD-I will help me in the long run incase I do cams or internals. Of course in the meanwhile I also want to be safe with the Nitrous and advancing the timing is not a good thing. With Hondata is it completely tunable as to where I can leave timing as it is and not adjust it?

Hondata is completely tunable. fuel curve and ignition maps. I have heard that the tieing up of the O2 works, but my test pipe does not kick a cel. Mine is an 00R. I usually only run my SMSP cat, the test pipe occasionally, but with no light.
