Be on the lookout for...
...these wheels.
They are the mysterious SCCA Showroom Stock "trunk kit" 14x6 Enkei alloys for the EX. They have been out of production for a couple of years but there must be some out there somewhere. Let me know if you have any leads...

I was in the process of sending this link to my contact at Enkei to identify the wheel (but he left last week the company and their tech guy hasn't gotten back to me) but it looks like crxfanatic has found that same wheel now being made for private label. I'd say get a set of these dudes and use no center caps and you are spot on.

Enkei stopped selling that wheel several years ago--probably back in 98 or so. I know because I tried to get a set of 15's back in 99 and no one had any left in stock.
I've seen them on ebay a time or two but I don't know if they still produce it for someone else. Good luck.

Might try here. The link was last updated 12/02 so maybe they still carry them.

Have you seen the "real thing" on trunk-kit cars in the past, Lee? Sandy Kryder seems to think that they don't look like the ones that KrydeRacing has found, that are supposed to be the approved part. I would love some independent confirmation.

Mwah-mwah-mwaaaahh. Loser.
More evidence supports that these are indeed the right item but Belle doesn't have any more. They were nice enough to follow up with Enkei and THEY said "two years too late."
Start watching the garage sales, everyone, and let me know if you see any.
Thanks again, all.

If there was indeed a trunk kit with 14x6 wheels, shouldnt you be able to use ANY 14x6 wheel assuming the offset is within the allowed range? For what kinda racing is this?
SCCA Showroom Stock rules are very specific, where alternate parts (called "trunk kits") are allowed. The book lists part numbers for Eibach springs, Koni shocks, Neuspeed rear bar...and these wheels. I would love to just pick another 6x14 wheel - like ANY of them are common any more - but the rules don't allow it. The other option is the stock steel deals that are, what, 4.5" wide?

EDIT: D'oh, these are 15s. Are you certain they were 14s?

Halfway down the page you should find them. They are "on sale" or so they claim @ 118 each. I ran across this and figured I'd help you out.

Yeah - the "right" ones are 14s but you have me thinking that maybe I should call those people and see if they have any surprises hiding anywhere. Thanks for the lead!

Kirk,
I have seen that specific car that you showed pictured (was one of the Honda employee teams but not the HART one) and those should be the specced wheel but I can't say really that I remember anything about that wheel.
My suggestion is that you contact SCCA Topeka tech folks and tell them that Enkei has two years ago discontinued the spec wheel. I'd bet some Enkei employee would whip out a one paragraph letter on company letterhead saying that model wheel was discontinued. With that, I'd bet SCCA would have no choice but to let you run another wheel. I'd talk to them first but would even bet that they would accept from Enkei the suggestion of a comparable replacement wheel that is still a current model so long as the weight was in the right ballpark. Enkei is probably more likely to be happy to write such a letter if they had a chance to respec a similar wheel so they'd again have the sales opportunity. I think getting an official statement from the manufacturer would be plenty to allow the SCCA to make the change. Basically a supercession situation and it shouldn't be a real difficult hurdle. "This is gone, this can replace it".
