i have a gsr swap, but it came with a hydro y80 ls tranny. Im goin all motor, can i use this tranny, or get a gsr? whats the main difference between the two? thanks for the info.

 

yeah theres a big idffernce. THe ls has long gears if your going to get a new one try and get a type r with the jdm 4.7 final gear.

 

will it affect my times at the track with the ls tranny compared to a gsr?

i was doing research on the web and some gsr trannys are y80. is that true?

 

yes that is true, y80 trannys can be GSR or LS the only way to really find out is to split the Case and count the teeth on the ring gear of the differential. the LS Will have 64 teeth and the GSR will have 66 teeth.
