If I buy Mobil1 and store it inside; how long would it be good for?

I don't think there is a shelf life on motor oil.

Smart ***, lol.

Found Mobil1 at Walmart for $18.88 / 5 quarts. Figured I'd stock up a little.

Saw the same price for those 5 qt jugs of M1 at Wal-Mart in Baraboo, WI. Local Sam's Club warehouse stores used to carry 6 quart cases of M1 for $21.99 (similar price) but now our local Sam's doesn't carry it anymore.

Our local Sam's Club has Mobil 1 (5W30 for the ITR, 10W30 for my other car) for $23.xx / case of 6. While either price is about as good as you're going to get these days, I wouldn't necessarily bother stocking up - and I certainly wouldn't buy more than I would expect to use within the next year, if I were planning to move cross-country a year from now.

Local Costco has it for 23.99, and wal mart for 18.xx. thats what I've been picking up lately.

Now what about once a qurat has been opened, still no problems there, as long as its sealed?

Isn't the Costco price for a six-quart case, and the Wal Mart price for a five-quart jug?

I don't even think it needs to be sealed. Not that you wouldn't want to be sealed. But I'm pretty sure oil can keep for quite a long time, even after the cap has been opened and then resealed. Unlike brake fluid, motor oil is not hygroscopic, so there is no concern about absorbing moisture, which is why it doesn't come in air-tight cans/bottles like brake fluid, I would assume...

yeah it is, sorry for not specifying. Sometimes I forget not everyone knows exactly what I'm thinking but not necessarily typing
