Help me out. I screwed up bad. I was going to the duno today..
I finished installing my new motor d15b jdm vtec and turbo. Well I am using the hack with 310cc injectors. Like a moron I didnt think I had them set at -25%. I almost made the run around the neighborhood and smoke started pouring out the exhaust... I did a compression test and got 210 straight across. What do yall think I screwed up? What sucks is I was actually going to get it tuned so I didnt hurt the dam motor... AHH. I dont recall the color of the smoke because I turned it off when it happened. should I crank it back up and check out the color?

DON'T DO THAT!!!
Did you "boost"?
It seems like the ratio of trim/injectors you are using is SLIGHTLY too low (beside the fact that you won't be able to boost much at all)...
Did you assemble the engine, or just install it?

Did I boost: No, I dont think i ever pushed the rpm past 3k.
I added three quarts total but It might be to much.
I just installed the motor, I didnt build it.
I believe I was super lean. I changed it to -12 straight across then cranked it back up. No smoke, but it smelled rich. I drove it about half block to see if it would smoke and it didnt. I think I need to do a leak down test. At first I thought it was my valves. but my step father said that once your valves start smoking they will continue to smoke afterwards. My Idle is pretty low.

If it was the first time you started up the motor, that there are any number of things that it could have been. I had a motor smoke for over 30 minutes onetime after I put it in my car. If the motor was shipped that it could have gotten tipped and any remaining oil in motor could have gotten into the cumbustion chamber. But that has only happend to a motor that I had turned completly upside down on a engin stand.
sounds like there was left over oil in the turbo. is it a used turbo? if it stopped you are probably ok. if it's still doing it check and see if you are restricting the flow of oil out of the turbo or have too much going in. oil is seeping past the seals.
dam alot of good ideas.
Yea the motor was shipped from houston.. and then I assume they imported it.
I like the idea that 310 will only get me 8 psi I dont need more than that .. so now I cant go boost crazy and blow up my block.
As for the idea of oil in the turbo. That is a good possibility. its a used turbo. And good idea to check to see if the oil is getting restricted.
I've been working in the sun for the past 3 days and its basically made me dumber ;-P

also remember there could have been oil somewhere in the exhaust system, from the install or other things, and it wont smoke too bad untill you get the car under load and make the exhaust get to tempurature...
i would run it again....but make sure your fuel settings are on the safe side....

Dude, I bet your exactly right. my last motor had 0 compression and was blowing oil so bad it wasnt even kinda funny. Some civic Si with a pulling a street bike wanted to race... such a ghey moment. I bet I have a quart of oil in my exhaust and I bet its not done burning since I killed it as soon as it happened.
