Hey bro,
If you're a guy, just disgregard this because you already know better. But just in case you're a girl, here's some tips:
1. release the parking brake before you race. Actually, remember to release it before you leave for the track.
2. Turn the a/c off.
3. Take all the beanie babies, articles of clothes, CD's, and makeup and at least put them in the trunk, if not remove them from the car before you go to the track.
4. Let the engine wind out to redline (or if you're good, near fuel cut). You don't have to short shift at 4K RPM all the time.
5. Even though you might get your hands a little "icky", pop the hood before your run and let the engine cool down.
Good luck, and happy racing.

I Posted these tips in another recent thread:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=54974
Best tips:
1. Lower front tire pressure to 21 PSI. If you want also increase the tire pressure in the rear.
2. Work on shifting faster ( alot of people lose time by shifting to slow)
3. In the beginning don't worry about a perfect reaction time of .500. The clock doesn't start ticking till you begin rolling. Instead focus on lauching the car. After you get your launches down then go for the .5XX reaction times (in other words start at the third yellow).
4. Don't trust your tachometer if it is stock. I rev mine till about an indicated 8800RPM. You will probably hit you limiter the first time you try, but it is Ok just remember where the needle was when you hit the limiter for next time and shift right before it).
5. Launches vary, but lately I have had a lot of success launching around 4.5K. Before I used to have to ride the clutch a little more or I would spin to much.
6. If you are going to drag alot invest in motor mount inserts ($30). They will stop your front end from hopping so much. It will not help your 60' time, but it will save you some very bad hopping and excessive abuse.
Good luck!
