If you've never been to the track before, you should tell people you run in the 16's, because a lot of people run shitty their first time out if they have no dragstrip experience.
14.764@94.72 with full interior and all belts on.
The temp was about 75-80 degrees.
It took me a couple on months to get to that time. Usually, I see people (beginners) make their first run in the high 15's and low 16's, but by the end of the night they are consistently at 15.2-15.3

I was pretty dead on w/ the 14.7 call...well if i tell ppl i run 16s, its pretty embarassing...i'll just continue to say "i've never run before" till i do, but now at least i can say "i've never run before BUT a good driver will run about 14.7 in this car, so be afraid, be very afraid u damn riced out automatic 1996 mitsubishi galant with glowing windshield washer fluid nozzles and super huge wing!"
THat's what i said, a Good driver. I want to see how good iam. Damn lack of time. Anyone from the Tri-State NY metro area wanna go down to a track sometime before the end of auguast? Island dragway maybe?

Best tips:
1. Lower front tire pressure to 21 PSI. If you want also increase the tire pressure in the rear.
2. Work on shifting faster ( alot of people lose time by shifting to slow)
3. In the beginning don't worry about a perfect reaction time of .500. The clock doesn't start ticking till you begin rolling. Instead focus on lauching the car. After you get your launches down then go for the .5XX reaction times (in other words start at the third yellow).
4. Don't trust your tachometer if it is stock. I rev mine till about an indicated 8800RPM. You will probably hit you limiter the first time you try, but it is Ok just remember where the needle was when you hit the limiter for next time and shift right before it).
5. Launches vary, but lately I have had a lot of success launching around 4.5K. Before I used to have to ride the clutch a little more or I would spin to much.
6. If you are going to drag alot invest in motor mount inserts ($30). They will stop your front end from hopping so much. It will not help your 60' time, but it will save you some very bad hopping and excessive abuse.
Good luck!

at Sears Point on wednesday, there was a 00 PY Type R
with, Comptech lightend flywheel, clutch, headlight ram air into stock box, test pipe, N1 exhaust, stripped interior (carpet, rear & passanger seats) and he had BFG Drag Radials on stock rims up front and 16" Spoon SW388s in the back
Ran a best of 13.8 at 100+mph. He was slipping the clutch from 6000rpm!

I only went to the track once. It was after I had installed my AEM CAI and DC 4-1. I could only manage a 14.4 @ 95. I didn't feel I got a good launch, but my 60' time was a 2.212. The car weighed in at 2700 lbs with me in it. It had a full interior, fully inflated stock tires, and a 1/4 of a tank of gas. I might go back to the drag strip after I get my Icebox and JDM header with test pipe. I'm not much into drag racing. I need to learn to launch.
