Ok, if you have a DX, you prolly started out with it being really slow with only 106 HP. Well, what was the first mod you did you increase the performance and how much hp did it add. Thank you.

I did. And got FTD 2 times this year at the Autocross.
Once with a D15B7, and once with a D16Z6.

Both motors had the same CAI, header and exhaust.

Staying on topic, the first thing I did was remove the muffler.
Then an Iceman CAI with the ram air headlight piece. Then a cheap header.

None of these item made a big gain.
But I will say that going from the cold air piece to the headlight piece make a BIG difference.

I put an intake on first. At least it sounded cool when I got on it.

yeah who wants to go fast anyways?

I would suggest save your cash and buy your swap. Or if you want to stick with that for a while do to cash flow problems just squeeze on it.

But yes too work on your suspension, just a decent one will do you ...
heres what i got...

KYB agx shox
tein S-tech springs
Ex front bar
ITR rear sway (near future) w/beaks kit cant go wrong with that

oh and whats "racing strips"?

very first thing i did was intake and tanabe cat back exhuast. Only thing that made much of a difference was the intake, i noticed the car could make it up certain hills without having to down shift like i had to at one time. Since then the car has gone through many changes =0 considering this was back in 1997

first mod was a AEM intake and custom exhaust..pretty much a waste of money till i had a Jackson blower install d..guys will usually bash these but in my case i was more than happy with the performance ..then of course there were the suspension mods..and fake Spoon replicas *rota s* HEY..they re cheap and lite..brakes and ACT clutch...about this time ive got around 7k invest d in the car

one month later the car was jack d in front of the house and the remain s found in stockton ..then the wife finally finds out how much i really spent on mods going thru the MC statements for the insurance company

I say Build suspension then intake, Dc sports ceramic coated header, and exhaust! if you build the bottom end or put a block gaurd you can run a phat shot of the Nos. along with a few other things u can definately make a sohc quick. Msd ignition, cam gears, new fuels system! it all cost money though. good luck

Well, i am trying to find the best ways to mod my engine without replacing the engine because my mom is against it because of past experiences with my dropping a 350 into my brothers truck before he got a prelude. I told her there wasn't anything wrong with it if it was done right.

But anyway, i am going to get an AEM coi, not one of the short ones, definately something i can tell to make a difference. Then prolly headers with a nice cat and a new exaust. But all in due time. Anyway, keep up with the replies. Thanks alot.

I found a cheap used AEM CAI for my DX, and if you check the AEM site, it makes like 10 hp peak, so that the only power adder i did. Highly worth the $60 I payed! Rick
