Alright, i have a Viper Ultra 800HF, and i lost/broke the remote for it. I need to get another remote, but have NO clue which model remote i need to get. The one i had looked like a 4 button/roman numeral remote, it was black w/grey keys, and had a light at the top (i cant remember if it blinked green or red). Also is said DEI on it, and i think it said 266 rolling codes on it. If anyone can help me figure out what remote i need to get for it, that would be great!
485M is the DEI remote part no. for the 800HF. Before buying, verify that the date code is within 5H-7L range. You can find the code on the back of the brain.

I cant get to the brain, thats the prob, when it was installed, it was installed in a way no one could really tamper with it =[ Also, are you sure this is for the Ultra 800HF?

Hmm prolly like 2-3 years maybe, im not really sure.. i bought it like a year ago and the guy who sold it to me already had it in there
Also what i do remember is that the remote said 266 rolling codes on the back, the 66 was like smaller, like it was a "power to" 2.
The 485m is only 60 channels and 68 billion rolling codes, isnt that less?

Sounds like you have a 800SHF then. If this is the case you'll need one of the 476 series remotes (476V, 476A or 476T). This is why the date code is important. I would definitely try to get to the brain if you can. Otherwise, make sure the shop you deal with has a good return/exchange policy just in case the one you buy won't program. Your local Circuit City is a good place to start.

I went to circuit city and they didnt have the remote model i needed.. they didnt even have the 476 line. Also, the brain says right on it
"Viper Ultra 800HF" . I was told it was bought at circuit city, but i went there and they said they never carried it. =[ the only thing i could read from the back of the brain cause it wouldnt turn all the way, was like 40a/30

You can check with another DEI dealer (not CC) to see if they have remotes in stock. If you want to order online, here's a shop that is authorized and has a 30-day return policy (less shipping).

If you remember the "2/66 rolling codes" phrase on the old remote then I'm pretty sure you'll need the 476 series remote. BTW, did it have a green light?

i swear to god it was green light, im pretty sure that it was a 476 series, but its weird, cause the brain says Ultra 800HF and the remote that looked like mine was the 485m, but i remember it had a green light and 266 on the back, im pretty sure about the green light
A couple of years back, the remotes looked the same (476 vs 485). The only way to tell the difference was by the information printed on the back of the remote.
