how do u get TDC?
for a Dohc or Sohc?
for a Dohc, the word "Top," on both cam gears should face up and the index mark on each cam gear should point to each other in a horizontal position. the index marks should also be even with the level of the cylinder head.
also, the white indicator on the crank pulley should match up with the triangular shaped marker on the lower timing belt cover.
for a Sohc, it is the same thing with the exception of matching the two index markers with each other on each cam gear. instead, the index markers should be even with the cylinder head, as it would be with a Dohc

yeah to do all this though, you have to turn the motor over by turning the crank pulley by way of ratchet and socket. use 17mm for sohc, and 19mm for dohc if i'm not mistaken. turn the crank bolt clockwise until you see the notches line up with the "line" on the plastic cover. there should be a section of 3 notches and then a single notch, the single notch is tdc.... have fun.
