just got my b18 swap into a 90 civic running but having big probs...
I have a LS motor w/ a b16 trans in my 90 hatch. My problem is that the motor spits and sputters like a b*tch when i give it just a lil throttle, it'll smooth out a bit at around 4-45k but since i have everything brand new, or just about, i don't want to spin the motor this high just to keep it going to were i need to be. I did have some gas in it that has been there for a year so i put some premium in w/ some gas treatment. I'm also running a stock dx cat back system that dumps out about a foot after the cat. My friend was following me home, like 2 miles, and he said the cat and the 1 foot section behind it was glowing red and shooting out flames so we stopped and let it cooldown. i'm also getting a check engine light that blinks 1 time and then the car runs worse. I believe that's the code ofr an O2 sensor. I have a remapped 90 civic si computer in it and will be getting a stock LS computer tomorrow.
Any ideas as to what it may be? i think it's my fuel pump or my fuel filter is straight f'd up. I also had to replace the main relay in the drivers footwell, maybe it went out and fried the pump? i'm getting pissed cause i've had this **** for a year and finally installed it. The car has sat for a year w/ no motor in it.

Check your spark plugs, and possibly fuel injectors.

ok, i removed the cat and gutted it, it was blocked solid causing insane amounts of backpressure. Now that i have taken care of the excessive back pressure, the o2 code is gone. I did have a map sensor code then i put my buddies new sensor on and it went away. I drove it home today but i could not give it more then 1/2 of gas otherwise it just sputtered and went nowhere so i had to back off to about 1/4 gas and it started moving a bit. About 10 minutes into the drive, my check engine light came on and flashes out code 15, igniter problem. My plugs are straight black. I just had new ngk's in there but i don't think the kid gapped them. Also, i have to use some old plug wires due to REAL tight $$$ probs. I will have new ones tomorrow and plugs. What are the possibility's of a code 15? Also, anybody have a top view of a LS swap into a 90 hatch so i can figure out vacuum routing.
