Timing belt broke, possible bent valve?
I have a 90 accord dx, f22a. Water pump seized, broke timing belt, possible bent valve. I'm not sure if valve is bent yet. If one is, should I replace all the valves at the same time? Does any one know where to find directions, any tips?
If you replace the belt/water pump without checking the valves first, use a compression tester to check each cylinder. Otherwise, you may try a leakdown to determine how many valves are bent without the timing belt on. Probably time for an H22.
It's not a possibility. The Accord and Preludes have interference engines which means if the timing belt snaps or slips off, then you're not worried about bending a valve, you're worried about how many you bent. Only way to find out, compression check or pull the head. Either way you'll find the same scenario...bent valves.
