Default CV joints

I just had my left axle replaced because the cv boot tore causing the joint to go bad. I had that same axle replaced about 5 months ago. Should that axle have lasted longer or is it just luck of the draw? I don't beat on the car although my commute to school does involve some rough back roads. I just want to know if I should bring this up when I go to pick up my car later. Thanks.

Yeah, defintly bring it up. There should be a warranty on the labor/parts. I had the same problem acouple of years ago. I was in an accident, and the shop had to replace the entire left front suspension. Well, 6 months later, my cv boot cracked, causing all the grease to drain out, eventually ruining the new driveshaft they had put in.

see this is the problem

new axles are $75 when you buy them rebuilt, it costs less for the shop to buy the new axle and put it in than take an old one, clean it out completely,(once you get dirt and brime in the bearings they are done), put a new boot on, put it in to only last half the time of a new one

they are not jipping you any money
