Default Ceramic Versus Stainless

Are there performance gains to be had from having a stainless over a ceramic? I'm looking into the DC JDM jeader and the prices are somewhat different. Anyone know? Thanks.

Stainless steel headers will generally last a lifetime, ceramic has a life of about 5-6 years. I believe that ceramic headers retain heat somewhat better (lower underhood temperatures) than stainless (someone please tell me I'm right ).

Your Right ! Also, you have to take into account the salt and crap in the winter. I think it will eat through the ceramic headers....eventually !

Just spray some high heat paint over the welds on the Sainless header and it will last a long time.

Why do you say that. Aren't the cc headers made of the same material? The ss headers are just polished.

Ceramic headers are made of mild steel.

Amost every DC CC header I have seen has cracked at one of the welds (retains a little too much heat). I have owned 2 SS DC headers and have not had a single problem, No cracks, no rust, no nothing. I have 3 friends who are currently driving around with cracked DC CC headers.

DC told me that the SS header will last much longer than the CC and that it would be better suited for long harsh winters. It also just looks cool (SS that is.)
