Default Shifter Bushings? Are there more than just these....

Hi guys. I have the following installed already.

By the way, if anybody is wondering, the 2-piece bushing in the picture does not go on the bottom of the shifter, which is what i originally thought before ordering. It goes up near the tranny by the linkage.

I'd like to get a skunk2 short shifter maybe for my B-day, but i want some better bushings to go along with it. My question is: Do all shifter bushings look like these in the picture? I emailed jdmspecperf and they have Mugen bushings for $50, but i don't know how they look. That's a lot of money for bushings!!!

Anyway, does anybody know what the Mugen bushings look like? Do they have this same basic design?

Can anyone please tell me any other kinds of bushing kits that will go at the bottom of the shifter? Thanks a lot!!

There isn't much to make a urethane bushing better than another. I have the energy suspension bushings on my civic with a skunk2 dual bend shifter and skunk2 shift ****. I love how positive of a shift it is. The skunk2 isn't the shortest throw shifter on the market, but is still nice IMO.

That looks like the ES kit. I have them in my car and they make a big difference. There isn't really a bushing in the bottom of the shifter, there are some o-rings that go onto the shifter before you bolt it onto the linkage, but that's it. The two piece bushing you see in the pic mounts towards the front by the tranny on the shift stabilizer bar, and the funky piece mounts to the underside of the car near the shifter and holds the other end of the shift stabilizer bar.

BTW, if anyone wants them, I have a spare set of ES shift stabilizer bushings (exactly what you see in that pic) in BLACK that came with my ES hyperflex kit that I don't need (already have them) that i'll let go for cheap. Send me a PM if interested.

If I get a short shifter would it be recommended to get a shifter bushing kit?

Even if you don't have a short shifter you will notice a difference with new bushings. I had a B&M SS and bought the bushing kit to put on also. After installing the bushing kit I actually took my short shifter out and left just the bushings. I wanted to see what kind of difference there was with just the bushings and the stock shifter. They alone make the shifts much more solid feeling. Infact I haven't even put the short shifter back in yet.

yeah i love my Es shifter bushings it makes the shifts much more crisp and smooth.

The only diffrence that i see is that the two lil red ones with the bronze metal thingy on my ES bushings is all one peice. I think that it would be more difficult (just cuz they go in there really tiiite) to put on if its 3 pieces instead of one.

my vote... go for the ES its like 15bux shipped

those bushings came with my neuspeed kit. Made a big difference. I definately recommend them even if you don't have a short shifter.
