Default How do you check and possibly change the motor mounts??

My a/c is vibrating alot when i turn it on...somebody said it could be one of my motor mounts. I also notice, when its cold outside, that if i go over a speedbump, i hear a squeaking sound from somewhere in the front end of the car. I changed my struts, springs, tierods, cv axles and still the sound is there. Anybody know how to check the motor mounts? WHere are they located? In case they are broken, are they hard to change out??

the motor mounts are located on the one on each side of the engine, one by the timing belt cover and the other near the ditributor. i dunno how to tell if they are bad but when my friends moutn broke on his civic, we had to put a jack underneth the tranny for support. one you have supported the tranny, you can now begin to unbolt the mounts. my 93 civic ddi the same, when i put the AC on, the car would shake to, butit was just the condesnsor and maybe the alternater was to weak to support the power. i will never know. good luck

98 accord 5 spd..runs like a ..."a champ"

to chek your front motor mount..look at the rubber insert....if its gone or tear apart; then u need new one.to replace front motor mount on any genth accord one dun have to suport the engine or anything......i dun know aobut civic though...

for your squeaky noise,,, i hate people who change parts to fix problem....dat is not professinal and foolish........

the squeaky noise u hear possible coming from your front sway bar busshing......as the bushing worn out...it cause metal to metal contact between the busshing and the sway bar.....

one u can replace the bushing like other..

two u can buy silicone grease and grease it up......inside the busing.....you have to unscrew the 12mm ..

i hate u for changing parts.

i didn't actually change those parts to get rid of the squeak cause its tolerable most of the time. had to change em cause they were worn, but thanx alot of the sway bar idea.....i bet thats it

who ever told you your motor mounts would vibrate from your AC turnning on was hitting the pipe....
your bearing in your compressor is prob.. bad or your ac belt is to loose or to tight.

oh and BTW if your motor mount was bad you would hear your motor knocking
every time you take off from a dead stop.
